Foxconn showed several new motherboards based on upcoming chipsets from NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel. Foxconn proved to us that they are serious about competing in the high performance sector with their new X48 BlackOps motherboard.

I'm laughing over the stance FOXCONN claims to embrace; I'm still reeling over the sight of THREE EVGA mobo's relegated to RMA status due to DOA! In my opinion the slackest of the OEM slackers out there...BUYERS: caveat emptor RE: FOXCONN!!!Restroom - Saturday, January 12, 2008 - link
How practical is it to employ dry ice in a chimney to cool a processor? I'm assuming they're talking about a slurry of some sort, else you'd be making a fog machine. Remember when all the rage was submerging the motherboard in oil? What's next, pulse tubes?Big noisy fans, people. Get used to it.

There is no slurry, carbon dioxide sublimes. This is just for short term, my overclock is bigger than yours bragging rights.

On the other hand, just NEED one of those CoolerMaster VW Bus painted cases. I've looked at all of the other CM "handpainted" cases and none seemed worth half what was being asked for them. The VW Microbus painted Stacker cases, on the other hand.....don't care how expensive they are.....gotta get one!!!

I am left somewhat dissapointing with the coverage of CES from anandtech this year. Usually it is something I find exciting, but this year it just seems like they want us to settle with a couple of pictures of ram "Oh look, a stick of ram, behold the glory of a picture of ram just sitting there. There will be no additional comments due to the awesomeness of this photo..."donkeyqong - Thursday, January 10, 2008 - link
I attended the whole thing. I was underwhelmed. There really was very little to write about. There was a demo of Age of Conan, it is a yawn game with little interest. They were installed on amazing machines and there was NO line to play.
HP's Blackbird was presented well. They were the ONLY machine running COD 4 at full res with everything turned up running as smooth as butter. Stranglehold was fun to play, I will probably buy that new take on bullet time game.
The AMD booth was an embarrassment. They had a new demo of Need for Speed running and it was chuggin around the corners or anytime there was a mess of cars on screen. They had the XBOX 360 and the WII up to show off their acquisition of ATI.
Of course there were big screens. We knew that was going to happen. 108, 150 whatever, yawn. Call me when they have a scalable wall and I can move a virtual screen anywhere on a wall like in Total Recall. TI had a demo of a 240 HZ refresh on a DLP. Seems DLP can do that easily, the tech said they had a proof of concept at 500 HZ.
There were mice, there were keyboards, there were a couple of new motherboard manufacturers. I went over my notes every night looking for ANYTHING remarkable, and there wasn't anything to write about.

LOL. Yeah, I tell which chipset most of the motherboards were running too.Gary Key - Thursday, January 10, 2008 - link
We uploaded these photos with the text, unfortunately, the text did not go up properly and we are working on it. In the meantime, going to pull this down.tmouse - Thursday, January 10, 2008 - link
Seriously, half of these pictures are totally worthless. What good is a picture of a ram module; most here have probably seen one before. What’s the story with the guy playing a game is this ANY kind of news? A good thought out report with nice (explained) photos would be interesting. These "blogs" (I see memory modules, hard drives cases and people on computers ect.) and Un-annotated photos are really useless unless you believe this is making us "feel like were right on the floor" Sniff, Sniff, AAAhhhh! I can almost smell the crowds.
